Well, the first stage of the move is complete. Frank and I rolled into my parents' drive around 9pm. The morning was full of loading up a van (with lots of thanks to two very strong young men who helped) and last minute sorting, sifting, remembering things that were tucked some place odd. Oh shit. I just realized I forgot some board games under the couch. Natasha, I hope you can take them for a while.
My Mom drove the rental truck and left about an hour ahead of me. Frank impressed me on our journey. He mewed for a short while, but then he went back and forth between my lap and his open cage without much fuss. He's already adapting to the much larger home he's found himself in. There are so many new smells and corners to discover. I'm not sure what he's going to do when he realizes that there is no Natasha head to curl up behind on the couch.
We still need to put most of my stuff in storage, which will happen sometime tomorrow. It's all unreal. I was able to see a bunch of excellent friends before I left. I don't think the fact that this is my new life will sink in until I've settled into some sort of routine. Also unreal? Having to borrow underwear from your mother because your underwear is trapped in moving van several blocks away.
oh that last sentence had me laughing out loud! glad the move went (relatively) smoothly... good luck getting things unpacked/in storage! megxx

I can't believe you really did it. I can't believe you left Chicago. I can't believe you divorced Natasha. I can't, cannot, cannot cannot cannot believe how much change is prevading everyone's lives these days.
Congratulations, Claire, on your new beginning. I can't wait to see how you grow through this new challenge.

NICE!
I'm glad that you got to keep Frank in the divorce but poor Natasha.... oh well - she's cool so she'll eventually find a cat of equal coolness.

All this means is that you will have to be more dilagent in the blogosphere -- how else will we know what random thoughts, underwear adventures, and pranks you and Frankorama get up to. I am glad you got to Ohio safe.

Dude, the Scrabble is safe with me. You should have seen them move the couch! They shrink wrapped it and took the door of of the hinges on the new place for unfettered access. WE COULD NEVER HAVE DONE THIS. Best money I have ever spent.
You should have seen it - I picked up a six pack at the liquor store and cleaned the shit out of that place. I found the hand crank radio and listed to Love fm while I did battle with the dust/funk/goo. As I was looking around for the last time, Jean called me to invite me to a potluck dinner. And then I cried some more. I blame the beer.
I actually had a dream about Frank last night. He was very good in the dream, so it is true that memory is kinder.
Oh I miss you both.
I hope you find your underwear.

How exciting and strange. I know you'll thrive and continue to bestow beautiful things on everyone near and far.
